Super Sunday: Football and the Golden Globes

It is funny that today on January 16, 2011 the sports world and the entertainment world clash. On the sports side, the "Star Wars" game of the New England Patriots and and the New York Jets should be the highlight of Football Sunday. The division rivals are trying their best to join the Steelers in the AFC Championship game. The "Jet-i" are trying to comeback and defeat the Patriots after suffering an embarrassing 45-3 lost to the Patriots in week 13. Coach Rex Ryan continues to give his "heartwarming" pep talks of "Beating (insert name here) is personal." Yes, Coach Ryan, Every game is personal, but why do you have to bash the quarterbacks? Is it because are jealous of the Colts or the Patriots because their quarterback's are 10x better than yours? Sadly I feel that Jets efforts in today's game will not help them defeat Tom Brady. Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. He is the owner of countless records, but those records aren't what make him great. No one thought ten years ago that a sixth round draft pick would have three Superbowl rings. What makes Tom Brady so great is how he can manage his team and win. The Patriots are a young team and were not supposed to well this year. But, Coach Bill knows how to manage a team well and got his team to have a record of 14-2. Brady only had 4 interceptions this season and hasn't thrown one in 11 games. Wow!!! Sorry Jets, the Patriots will win today.

The first game today shouldn't be to exciting the Seahawks don't deserve a spot in the playoffs because of their loosing record. Sure it was great seeing them defeat the Saints last weekend, but seriously the NFL needs to make a new rule that teams will a record below .500 shouldn't be allowed in the playoffs. Its unfair that teams like the Buccaneers or the Giants  couldn't make the playoffs with a 10-6 record because their divisions are a lot stronger than the weak NFC West. I hope the Bears can destroy the Seahawks so it can end the season of the Seahawks.

On the flip side, tonight is the presentation of the Golden Globes. It is the first major award for films and one of the last for television. Everyone is excited to see what dresses the women will wear and the red carpet should be hot. As for the winners tonight here are my predictions:
